Hanlon Park Redevelopment

Electrical and Lighting Design

Webb Australia Group Brisbane Office is proud to have undertaken the Electrical and Lighting design for the iconic Hanlon Park Redevelopment in Brisbane’s Stones Corner.

The redevelopment of the area consisted of the removal of 500+ meters of the existing concrete causeway to create a thriving ecosystem and landscaped community space. The project consisted of lighting to new shared pathways, feature seating lighting and power to the adjacent kids playground area for amenities.

Webb worked closely with the Design Team to ensure that the electrical system installed was robust and designed to mitigate flood damage. The natural landscape of the area ensured that flooding was to be every year and provided a design platform for all pathway and feature lighting in the area. Bespoke mounting brackets was designed for the underwater lighting which allowed for the extra low-voltage drivers to be suspended within adjacent pathway lighting. This provided a natural barrier from the rising flood water to retain the critical use of the lighting post-flooding.

Webb worked closely with the Client to bring the final design to life for the City of Brisbane. The result is increased visibility, safety and ambience, which has allowed residents and visitors to enjoy the parklands safely at all hours of the day. Hanlon Park has also been featured on ABC’s Gardening Australia with Alan Hoban (Bligh Tanner).
