Larissa Underpass Melbourne

Larissa Underpass, Melbourne

Lighting Design

An interactive kinetic lighting installation installed in the Larissa Avenue Underpass.
With motion sensor activation, the Larissa underpass welcomes pedestrians to walk through while enjoying a range of pre-programmed dynamic colour sequences, brightening their path with a full spectrum of vivid light and colour.

The spectacular lighting utilities highly efficient LED lighting, interfaced with daylight and motion sensors to ensure minimum energy consumption.

Combined with pedestrian lighting for safe travel though the underpass, the lighting installation is programmable and enables a multitude of lighting sequences to be displayed, ensuring the space is always new and providing an element of surprise each time it is visited
By combining creative imagination with technical ingenuity, a dark, unwelcoming pedestrian underpass has been transformed into an inviting and invigorating environment.

The lighting solution is designed to deter vandals, and to provide a safe passage to the newly established family-friendly Larissa Park.

The interactive lighting installed in the underpass is activated by pedestrians or cyclists as they move through the underpass.
