Specialist Sports Lighting and AV Design
With 60,000 capacity, this uniquely Qatari stadium will host Fifa World Cup 2022 games right through to the semi-finals. The stadium design honors Qatar's past and present, while keeping one eye on the future of the community.
Webb Australia Group was engaged to carry out the specialist sports lighting and AV design of the entire stadium.
The main objectives of lighting the stadium were:
- provision of appropriate background contrasts
- control and restriction of glare
- level of illuminance, both in horizontal and vertical planes
- uniformity
- high colour rendering and colour temperature
The primary goal of the lighting system was to illuminate the fields to Digital video quality, without creating nuisance for the players / officials / spectators and at the same time reducing spill light surrounding environment.
